Christine Chow, O.D.

Born and raised in Markham, Dr. Christine Chow graduated with her Doctor of Optometry on the Dean’s Honours List at the University of Waterloo. She has completed clinical externships across Canada and was awarded the OSI Vision Entrepreneurship Award for her perspectives on independent optometry and rural access to care. Her interests include scleral lenses and behavioural optometry, specifically in the fields of visual development and neuro-optometric rehabilitation.

Dr. Chow is a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and Vision Therapy Canada. She is also an OEPF clinical associate after having completed the OEPF curriculum in 2023, which offers specialized courses geared toward vision therapy and behavioural optometric treatment.

Prior to optometry school, Dr. Chow obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences in the Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization program at McMaster University, where she developed her appreciation for the bench-to-bedside process. She is passionate about interprofessional collaboration, improving access to care, and broadening the scope of optometric practice. Outside of work, Dr. Chow can be found brewing coffee and/or kombucha, reading speculative fiction, and roping friends and family into supporting the local arts and culture scene. She considers herself a lifelong learner and is excited to be serving patients in the Newmarket community.
