Born and raised in Markham, Ontario, Dr. Christine Chow graduated with her Doctor of Optometry on the Dean’s Honours List, courtesy of the University of Waterloo. She completed clinical externships across Canada in New Brunswick and Manitoba and was awarded the OSI Vision Entrepreneurship Award for her perspectives on independent optometry and rural access to care. Her interests include specialty contact lenses, dry eye disease management, and vision therapy.
Prior to optometry school, Dr. Chow obtained a Bachelor of Health Sciences in the Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization program at McMaster University, where she developed an appreciation for the bench-to-bedside process. She is passionate about interprofessional collaboration, improving access to care, and broadening the scope of optometric practice. Outside of work, Dr. Chow can be found brewing coffee and/or kombucha, reading speculative fiction, and roping friends and family into supporting the local arts and culture scene in the GTA. She considers herself a lifelong learner and is excited to be joining the Bridge Optometry team to serve patients in the Newmarket community.
